Bay Chesapeake Club Retriever
The bay chesapeake club retriever will promote the genetic health and improvement of the dogs and provide training early on.
Those dogs were the Newfoundlands and they were obviously breed to local coonhounds - thus the breed that is known nowadays appeared. The breed was registered by the American Kennel Club in 1878. The dogs are characterized by their versatility, strength and endurance.

The history of the breed is uncertain; the legend tells that there was a ship that crushed near the coast of Maryland and there were two dogs that survived.
